I asked a local the day before about the trail out of the canyon as it was not on a map, he replied that it wasn’t a trail, and he had never attempted it. Going solo I was a little skeptical but went ahead .. 4 hours later and after a very grueling snowy scramble I was amazed by the sudden change of terrain, the vertical climb abruptly stopped and the drastic relief of the high Sierra began .
